Simplified Version of the EMMC CID Patcher Tool Process
The EMMC CID Patcher is a Windows tool by Knotthailand. It helps calculate the CRC-7 value for the eMMC JEDEC.CID. Here’s how the process works:
Copy Original CID:
Use an ISP (In-System Programming) tool, like ISPT001, to copy the original CID from the eMMC chip.
Enter a New Serial Number (SN):
Input a new serial number (SN) using only numbers (0-9), as recommended.
Calculate CRC-7:
Use the EMMC CID Patcher to calculate the CRC-7 value for the new CID. This step is important to ensure data accuracy and proper functioning of the eMMC.
Copy New CID:
Once the new CID is created, copy it to your UFI Box.
Patch CID Using Easy JTAG Plus:
Use Easy JTAG Plus software to patch the new CID to the eMMC firmware. This step includes:
- Writing the new CID to the eMMC.
- Ensuring the firmware is compatible with the new CID.
Medusa eMMC Firmware:
Similar to Easy JTAG, use Medusa software to patch the CID. Ensure you have created the new CID using a different tool beforehand.
Write New CID with Medusa PRO:
Finally, use the Medusa PRO tool to write the new CID to the eMMC.
